Campaigns

Manchester-based award-winning book PR and communications consultant with a focus on children’s and YA books. I have worked in the publishing industry for more than 20 years as a bookseller, in-house publicist and independent PR consultant.

With a proven track record for delivering results-driven and focused campaigns, I am available for individual book campaigns, whole list consultancy, day-to-day PR support and book tour planning and delivery.

  • An experienced publicist I work both independently and closely with in-house PR teams to identify key targets and craft bespoke campaigns tailored to the individual book and creator. I combine a no stone left unturned approach with exemplary author care to deliver campaigns which reach multiple markets.

  • Available to design and deliver comprehensive book tours taking in schools, bookshops and festivals. I work with bookshops and libraries to ensure a joined-up approach focused on maximising audience reach and achieving book sales. Partners include: 

    • Key national literature festivals including Cheltenham, Bath, Edinburgh and Henley

    • Library services including Manchester Libraries

    • Independent and chain bookshops

    • MediaCity, Salford

    A Manchester-based publicist available to accompany authors on tour across the North of England, providing exemplary author care and regional knowledge to ensure a stress-free experience for authors. Also available to accompany authors to broadcast interviews at MediaCity, Salford.

  • I work with publishers for a fixed period or on a retainer basis to shape and deliver PR strategy across whole lists and imprints, providing an industry-wide perspective and fresh approach to PR. I am also available to bolster a team looking for additional day-to-day PR support.

An experienced event chair for festivals and conferences and contributor to panel discussions at industry conferences. I offer a wide perspective, bringing experience as an independent consultant, Children’s Books North Co-Founder, and Treasurer/Secretary of Industry network The Publishers Publicity Circle.

Regional Specialist

I have a passion for improving access to the publishing industry for aspiring professionals in the North of England and for shining a light on regional diversity in children’s publishing. As a Co-Founder of the Children’s Books North network, I have provided mentoring for aspiring publicists. I am available as a panellist or guest speaker for publishing courses and industry events, with a particular focus on regional access and demystifying publishing.
